What are scleral contact lenses

These are highly customized large diameter contact lenses used to fit a wide range of complicated corneal conditions.  Fitting requires a skilled and an experienced Optometrist in the field of rigid gas permeable contact lens fitting.  Dr. Morellato has fit 100's of patients since he started in 2000. 

Scleral lenses are used to solve many corneal issues such as:

• Keratoconus
• Corneal transplants and Radial Keratotomy
• high and irregular astigmatism (when soft lenses do not provide desired results)
• Corneas damaged by trauma
• As a dry eye therapy
• For many other corneal dystrophies to preserve corneal health

HOW MUCH TO SCLERAL LENSES COST

LENSES:  $750 per lens

 (plus possible custom lens design add-ons of up to 15%)

FITTING: $375

A lens fitting can take up to 3 hours and you will need at least 3 follow up visits.  The TOTAL cost of a fitting (includes ALL visits) is: $375

A lens fitting is quite involved using topgraphy and precise OCT imaging to design your custom lenses.
